Courtney received her undergraduate degree from the University of St. Thomas in 2003, graduating cum laude. She then worked in various aspects of commercial real estate before beginning law school at William Mitchell College of Law in 2009 where she was selected to be part of the college's honors program. Courtney received her law degree from William Mitchell College of Law in 2012.
